- NASA/GSFC has a requirement for the following optical component:One 45 Degree Beamsplitter - Detailed specifications are as follows:Qty. (2) Reflection > 90% @ 1064 nm & 408 nmQty. (3) Transmission > 80% avg 350-390 nmMinimize fluorescenceSize: 70 mm diameterClear Aperture: 63 mm diameterThickness: 3.0 0.5 mmRandom Polarization, measured in f/8 beamOperating Temperature: room temperatureScratch/Dig: 80/50 per MIL-C-48497ANASA/GSFC intends to purchase the items from Barr Associates. Barr Associates hassupplied all the interference filters and beamsplitters for the Stratospheric OzoneLidar, and for the Aerosol and Temperature Lidar, which these optics are for. Theseoptics are to be used in conjunction with other filters and beamsplitters that BarrAssociates has supplied, and hence, require compatibility. Any technical questions regarding this acquisition must be submitted in writing to KevaR. Crossen via e-mail at Keva.R.Crossen@nasa.gov, no later than 4:30PM Eastern StandardTime (EST) on May 2, 2008. It is the offeror's responsibility for downloading their owncopy of this notice and amendments (if any). Authority is FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) Only one source reasonably available.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) setforth in FAR Part 13. This solicitation/synopsis shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government, norwill the Government pay for the information solicited. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local timeon May 7, 2008. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for thepurpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.An Ombudsman has been appointed.
