Description
The North Texas Job Corps is requesting proposals to replace the fencing on the southern fence line (approx 950 ft.) in Chain link fencing and the southern end of the east fence (approx 600ft.) with decorative fencing. We will be holding a mandatory pre-bid meeting and walkthrough on May 2, 2008 at 10:00am CST, at which time all interested parties will receive a Scope of Work/Bid Package. Proposals will be due on May 9, 2008 by 5:00pm CST. The Contractor will remove and replace the south property fence line on the Tower Lane side of the center. The length of the fence is approximately 950 ft. The materials will be 2" mesh, 6 gauge and 72" high. Fencing fabric will be removed and replaced on the existing gate to Tower Lane. Posts will be of the appropriate heavy gauge with a top rail. The contractor will remove and replace the southern end of the east property fence line (Church Street side of the center). The length of the fence is approximately 600 ft. The materials will be of a wrought iron construction with square posts on 10' centers. Fence panels will be of square tubing ¾" x ¾", 6" o.c., 14 gauge metal with upper "spear" points to match existing front fence panels. "Spear" Points should be leveled to match the existing wrought iron fencing (approx. 6'). Fence will be painted black. A continuous foundation will support the fence to include 6" above grade as a stem wall. Foundation will be a total of 24" vertically and 10" wide with 4 bars of #5 rebar. 2" Weep holes will be installed at ground level each 10 feet. Special consideration will be given in 3 locations on the fencing stem wall and footing to provide drainage for surface water. The consideration will provide for unobstructed flow of surface drainage while maintaining security of the fencing system. The design of this drainage must be approved by the center prior to construction. The proposal will reflect that the contractor will conform to the latest Davis-Bacon Wage Rate decision for the area.
