- Researchers at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) are working on the following technologies. For further information, contact the: National Institute of Standards and Technology, Office of Technology Partnerships, 100 Bureau Drive, Stop 2200, Gaithersburg, Maryland 20899; Fax: 301-975-3482. This is not an announcement of a contract action or a grant. Description: NIST is conducting the following research on enabling the adoption and furthering the development of the NIST Multimodal Biometric Application Resource Kit (MBARK) software library. (i) Methods, technologies, documentation, and protocols to increase the usability of MBARK from a software development perspective. (ii) Development of portable multimodal biometric data collection capabilities in support of testing and evaluation activities for the Federal Bureau of Investigation's (FBI) Next Generation Identification (NGI) program.
