- Description
- The Social Security Administration (SSA), Atlanta Region, plans to issue a Request for Proposals (RFP) solicitation in according with FAR Part 12 to acquire Physician Services in the support of the Southeastern Program Service Center (SEPSC) Healthcare Unit. The NAICS code is 621111. The Size Standard is $8.5 million. The services will be performed at SEPSC Healthcare Unit, 1200 8th Avenue North, Birmingham, AL. An employee health unit is maintained at the SEPSC. Employees receive emergency and non-emergency health care services as needed and health care counseling as required. The health unit is located in a functionally configured suite and is normally staffed with two (2) occupational health care nurses whom are Agency employees. The contractor shall provide ten (10) hours of service each week, two (2) days per week during normal government business hours, excluding Federal holidays. After contract award, the project officer and the contractor will establish the weekly work schedule. The contractor shall have daily contact with Agency nurses, employee counselors and employees. Services will include a wide range of direct and advisory health in occupational health medicine including emergency care and non-emergency care to the onsite SSA employees (approximately 1,800). The physician will provide advice when required to the onsite occupational health nurses. SSA anticipates awarding a firm-fixed price contract with a period of performance of one year with provisions for four 1-year renewable option periods. Solicitations are scheduled for release on or about May 19, 2008, with a closing date of June 19, 2008. No telephone requests for the RFPs will be honored. The solicitations (and any amendments) will be available for downloading on the Federal Business Opportunity website at www.fedbizopps.gov for all interested parties. Note: Any prospective offeror must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) in order to be eligible for award. To register in CCR at the website: www.ccr.gov, applicants must have a DUN and Bradstreet number and Tax Identification Number (TIN). All contract awardees will have to undergo a security background screening.
