Through the installation of secure, locking, 36-inch manhole covers, the tank sump will be safe-guarded against unauthorized access and remain water-tight. Installation may require and include the demolition and removal of old existing pads and the removal of steel rings and covers. The Contractor also shall remove and dispose of all derived waste and debris in a permitted landfill or recycling facility off of Plum Island. The Period of Performance for this work will be from May 1, 2008, through June 30, 2008. Please submit your quotes before the deadline of 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time on Thursday, April 24, 2008, to the attention of Ms. Patricia La Riviere-Hom, Contracts Specialist, by fax to 631-323-3101. The successful offeror will be notified by the DHS/OPO/PIADC Procurement Office. The Plum Island Animal Disease Center (PIADC) is located on Plum Island, New York, approximately 1.5 miles from the eastern end of Long Island’s North Fork.
