Description

NOTE 22 APPLIES. The Eastern Federal Lands Highway Division (EFLHD), of the Federal Highway Adminstration (FHWA), The EFLHD intends to enter into a contract with Anton Paar, USA, Inc., for the purchase of a Dynamic Shear Rheometer (DSR) for the EFLHD Materials Laboratory located in Sevierville, Tennessee. The DSR determines the dynamic shear modulus and phase angle of asphalt binder when tested in dynamic (oscillatory) shear using parallel plate test geometry. It is applicable to asphalt binders having dynamic shear modulus values in the range from 100Pa to 10MPa. This range in modulus is intended for determining the linear viscoelastic properties of asphalt binders as required for specification testing. The DSR shall meet all requirements specified by the AASHTO T315 TP5 guidance.
