Description
The Bureau of Land Management, Nevada State Office, is seeking a qualified vendor to furnish the fabrication of seven copies of 3 signs for a total of 21 signs, and the complete design and fabrication of 12 interpretive signs to be used on the Silver State Trail located in Lincoln County, NV. The Silver State Trail (SST) is a 260 mile Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) Trail located in Lincoln County, Nevada and is managed by the Nevada Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Ely District. The trail is currently in place and minor adjustments are being made to access points, re-routes, crossings, and trailheads. Use on the trail is expected to increase with the rise of population in Clark and Lincoln Counties and the growing popularity of OHV's. Increased use will heighten environmental impacts. It is the intent that a well designed, built, and maintained sign plan will be able to effectively mitigate OHV impacts to our natural resources and provide a safe and memorable experience for the user group. The 260 miles of trail include 7 trailheads that can be accessed from Highway 93 and State Route 318. Informational kiosks will be located at the 7 trailheads and will have a large map for the center sign, a Tread Lightly!? sign to the right, and a sign with local rules and regulations regarding the Ely District's natural resources to the left. There will be approximately 12 interpretive signs located along the trail at natural resting areas. The themes for the signs will include, but are not limited to, fire history, invasive weeds, wild horses, great basin ecology, mining history, and wilderness/multi-use recreation. DESRIPTION/LOCATION OF WORK: Design and fabrication of signs to be completed at contractor's work site. Solicitation number FAQ080043 will be issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ) for the requested service. The solicitation package will be available electronically on or about April 28, 2008. Detailed information, including a Statement of Work will be included in the solicitation package. The solicitation and all associated attachments may be downloaded from the IDEASEC website: http://ideasec.nbc.gov. The North American Industry Classification System number for this solicitation is 339950 (Size standards in number of employees is 500). This procurement is 100% set-aside for small business. Information regarding this synopsis can be obtained by contacting Tanya Arnberger at 775-753-0379 or e-mail at Tanya_Arnberger@nv.blm.gov. Contractors are required to register or update their registration at the Central Contractor Registration website at www.ccr.gov in order to receive a contract award under this solicitation.
