- Description
- The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Cancer Institute (NCI), intends to procure on a sole-source basis with Cosoman Limited, HSBC Hay Wah Building, 7185B Hennessy Road, Wan Chai, Hong Kong for services regarding the co-sponsorship of the Sino-US Joint Symposium. This acquisition will be processed in accordance with simplified acquisition procedures as stated in FAR Part 13.501. The North American Industry Classification System Code is 541820 and the business size standard is $6.5M. Period of performance: The symposium will be held on June 13, 2008. Therefore, Performance shall be from date of award through June 13, 2008. In 2006, NCI co-sponsored a Sino-US Joint Symposium within the ILC to discuss recent advance in diagnosis, prognosis and therapeutic targets for liver cancer. The event was a tremendous success. Recent studies on stem cells and cancer molecular signaling pathways have revived an ancient view that cancer is a stem cell disease. Thus, in the 2008 ILC, a second Sino-US Joint Symposium has been planned. This symposium provides a timely platform to discuss the most recent development in hepatic cellular lineages and molecular events of hepatic cancer stem cells. The contractor shall: - send out invitations to the speakers and follow up with the speakers - be responsible for the rental and on-site arrangement of the meeting venue; ensure the smooth operation of the symposium including necessary Audio and Video equipment (e.g. projector, microphone etc.) - communicate with the speakers to ensure their flight schedule can match with the symposium program. - reserve a double room for each speaker in the official meeting hotel and provide maximum four room nights each. - provide local transportation from among airport, hotel and meeting venue. An ambassador may also be assigned to the take care the speaker to facilitate his/her lecture in the symposium. Cosoman Limited is the only vendor who has successfully coordinated several International Liver Congress (ILC) events since 2000 and is the chosen vendor for the 2008 ILC. The Sino-US Joint Symposium is an added event within the ILC coordinated by Cosoman. This is not a solicitation for competitive quotations. However, if any interested party believes it can meet the above requirement, they may submit a statement of capabilities. All information furnished shall be in writing and must contain sufficient detail to allow the NCI to determine if it can meet the above unique specifications described herein. An original and one copy of the capability statement must be received in the NCI contracting office by 1:00 PM EST on May 7, 2008. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. In order to receive an award, contractors must have valid registration and certification in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) www.ccr.gov and the Online Representations and Certifications Applications (ORCA), http://orca.bpn.gov.
