This is a small business set-aside with an associated NAICS code of 333999 and small business size standard of 500 The following is a solicitation for a request for quote. The following is required: These specifications are for a Hydraulic motor driven Tree/Brush Mulcher designed to attach to an Excavator. This type of mulching heads is designed for specific excavator sizes and Hydraulic flows. The specifications for the Mastication Head for the Forest Service excavator need to be as follows: 1. must be able to quick connect to facilitate other attachments. 2. Hydraulic motor size needs to be 80cc (motor sizes greater than 80cc require higher Hydraulic flow capacity than our equipment has). 3. Mastication Head needs to be able to operate on 38- 45 gallon per minute Hydraulic flows. 4. The Mastication Head must have a minimum of 30 cutting teeth also known as tools tools. 5. Overall width shall not exceed 70 inches with a cutting width of 56 inches.6. Total standard weight shall not exceed 4,400 pounds. 7. Mastication Head must be typed as Severe Duty. 8. Mastication Head must be of a Drum type, so that mulched material is discharged toward the ground which is safer to operate in areas close to road ways, and not thrown away from the Excavator such as the cutting wheel type masticating head. 9. Mastication head must be able to fit excavators with a weight of 45,000 to 55,000 pounds. 10. Mastication head must be able to mulch trees up to 10 inches in diameter and also shred masticated material to a maximum piece length of 24 inches. 11. Mastication head must be able to mow brush to ground level. 12.
