Description

Sources Sought: Scope of Work for fabrication of shield window extraction tool and technical support for window extraction NSTec Environmental Restoration requires a vendor experienced in the fabrication of leaded-glass shield window extraction tools to fabricate an extraction tool and to provide technician(s) specialized in leaded-glass shield window removal to guide our removal of these windows. The extraction tool will be used for the removal of six leaded-glass shield windows currently installed in concrete walls at a height of 10 feet. Five windows are 4 ft thick, 2 ft X 3 ft on the cold side, and 2 ft x 4 ft on the hot side. One window is 4 foot thick, 2 ft X 4 ft on the cold side, and 3 ft X 5 ft on the hot side. Windows are expected to weigh between 12,000 and 15,000 pounds. Exposed exterior surfaces of the windows are not radiologically contaminated and internal radiological contamination of the windows is not expected; however, the vendor will be required to work in a Radiological Materials Area. Delivery of tool and support is critical. Subcontract must have documented previous experience with design of tools for removing and supporting leaded glass shield windows safely. Offerors must provide an experience summary and address lead times.
