Description
The U.S. Army, ARDEC requires an Integrated Hardware/Software DevelopmentEnvironment for the creation of computer based logic applications for discretemanufacturing, process control, work flow, security systems, biometricsystems, timing studies and interface testing. This environment must containthe following hardware interfaces: standard manufacturing systems (OLE for process control), commercial USB based I/O Devices, biometrics (INCITS), security cameras (DSHOW, Standard IP Cameras), and PC Based serial devices. This environment must also allow for user discovery and integration of the following software interfaces at run-time: Win32 based Library (DLL),.NET 1.0 3.5 Library (Assembly), Excel Worksheet (95-2007), and Web Services. The associated Development System must provide an environment requiring minimal training that enables the engineers, operator, or manager of the previously enumerated application types to design, develop, deploy, maintain, and extend their targeted application. The environment must allow for thegraphical description of application steps and transitions between them that serves as both the design and run-time display of system status. Application steps must include the ability to use any combination of the following: communicate with any hardware or software library, calculate simple equations, express decision logic in table form, define timing loops and maximum step times, and start and stop data collectors. The environment must include the ability to define the following functions: graphical data Displays (i.e.graphs, numeric displays, camera pictures, live video), data collectors (spreadsheets or databases). The environment must allow target platforms to connect via networks so that target applications on various machines can interact to accomplish a task. The environment must allow for the automatic discovery and integration of other like development environments. The target applications must be allowed to run on multiple Microsoft Windows platforms from Windows XP Embedded, Windows XP Professional, or Windows Vista. Available target application scenarios must include unattended and headless operation. Capabilities on the aforementioned shall be sent to the following: Cathy Kallistros email: cathy.kallistros@us.army.mil: Telephone 973-724-5016.
