- DESCRIPTION: This is a notice of intent that WR-ALC anticipates issuing a firm-fixed-price, 5-Year IDIQ type contract with a Basic Year and 4 One-Year Options for the manufacture of Transfer Unit Housing Assemblies applicable to the 20mm F-16 Handling System. NSN: 1005-01-190-9802 NOUN: Transfer Unit Housing Assembly P/N: 209F953 QUANTITY: The Basic Year quantity is 2 each First Articles, 5 each Production. The Option Year quantities are 1-6 each. DELIVERY SCHEDULE: July 2009. DIMENSIONAL ENVELOPE: 12 inches wide X 10 inches long X 10 inches deep. WEIGHT: 10 pounds. USED ON: F-16. FUNCTION: The transfer unit removes rounds from the conveyor, places the rounds into the extractor lip of the gun breech bolts, receives expended cases and unfired rounds from the gun breech bolts, and places them in the conveyor. The approximate solicitation issue date will be 12 May 2008 with the approximate response date of 11 June 2008. Solicitation will be available for viewing or downloading at www.fedbizopps.gov only. This Solicitation will be issued as a request for proposal (RFP). The technical data required to respond to the RFP may be obtained at the FEDBIZOPPS webpage. All vendors are required to register via FEDBIZOPPS for an account in order to access the technical data. This acquisition is a 100% small business set-aside. No telephone requests. NO HARD COPIES WILL BE ISSUED. This acquisition may/does involve technology that has a military or space application. The only US contractors who may participate are those that are certified and registered with DLSC (1-800-352-3572) and have a legitimate business purpose. US contractors must submit a copy of their current, approved DD Form 2345 with their request for solicitation. To request this certification, write to the Commander, Defense Logistics Services Center, ATTN: DLSC-FEB, Federal Center, Battle Creek MI 49017-3084 and request a copy of Department of Defense Form 2345 or call DLSC at the above number. The solicitation/data package will be mailed to the data custodian identified in block 3 of the DD Form 2345. The extent of foreign participation has not yet been determined. MOU country sources must contact the Contracting Officer within 15 calendar days of the date of this synopsis notice to receive a copy of the solicitation at the time it is initially issued. Issuance of the RFP will not be delayed to review requests from MOU country sources received after 15 days or from non-MOU country sources. Nothing in this notice contradicts other restrictions, identified in the synopsis notice or solicitation, regarding eligible sources (e.g., if this is a small-business set-aside, foreign sources may not participate as potential prime contractors but could, if otherwise eligible, participate as subcontractors).
