Description

The Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS), the Department of Defense Medical School and Health Sciences University, hereby announces its intent to acquire, on a sole source basis from General Atomics in San Diego, CA, a Stepping Motor Control Rod Drive - P/N 80-214-012 and a Transient Control Rod Drive (Electro-Pneumatic) - P/N 80-214-013. Both the Stepping Motor Control Rod Drive and the Transient Control Rod Drive (Electro-Pneumatic) are a critical part of the AFRRI TRIGA Mark F nuclear reactor manufactured by General Atomic. General Atomic is the only manufacturer of the Stepping Motor Control Rod Drive and the Transient Control Rod Drive. This award is IAW FAR Part 13.106(b) and authorizes USUHS to award contracts when only one source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
