- Description
- The United States Coast Guard is considering whether or not to set-aside an acquisition for HubZone Set-Aside or Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business. The estimated value of this procurement is between $500,000.00 and $1,000,000.00. The small business size standard is less than 1,000 employees. The acquisition is for DOCKSIDE repairs to the USCGC DALLAS (WHEC-716). The vessel’s homeport is Charleston, SC. All work will be performed at the vessel’s homeport. The performance period will be 54 calendar days with a start date on or about October 13, 2008. The scope of the acquisition is: 1) Clean and Inspect Sewage and Grey Water Collection and Holding Tanks; 2) Supply Vent 02-215-1 Modification; 3) Oily Water Holding Tank Secondary Alarm Installation; 4) Renew Steel Deck Plating on #2 SSDG Flat; 5) Clean and Inspect Heat Exchangers; 6) Install TLI in Incinerator Sludge Tank; 7) Renew Stuffing Tubes; 8) Renew Ventilation Duct Heater; 9) Renew Ventilation Ducting; 10) Rehab Fan Space 1-282-1-Q; 11) Renew Ventilation Ducting and Vent Closures to Weather Deck; 12) Renew ASW Piping Insulation; 13)Renew Fire Station Piping and Valve; 14) Perform Anchor, Anchor Chain, and Ground Tackle Maintenance; 15) Preserve Chain Lockers; 16) Renew Bulkhead Insulation in Engine Room; 17) Renew Insulation in Plenum Chambers; 18) Renew Insulation Lagging on Various Equipments; 19) Renew Deck Covering System. Provide protective deck covering material. Trained welders who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures, shall accomplish all welding and brazing. There are no geographic restrictions. At the present time, this acquisition is expected to be issued small business set-aside. However, in accordance with FAR 19.1305 and FAR 19.1405, if your firm is and intends to submit an offer on this acquisition, please include the following: (a) a positive statement of your intent to submit a quotation for this solicitation as a prime contractor; (b) evidence of experience in work similar in type and scope to include contract numbers, project title, dollar amount, points of contact and phone numbers; (c) Past Performance references with points of contacts and phone numbers. At leas two references are requested but more are desirable. Your response is required by May 5, 2008. All of the above must be submitted in sufficient detail for a decision to be made on a HubZone Set-Aside, Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business or a Small business Set-Aside. Failure to submit all information requested may result in an unrestricted acquisition. A decision on whether this will be pursued as HubZone Set-Aside, Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business or Small Business Set-Aside on an unrestricted basis will be posted on the FEDBIZOps website at https://www.fbo.gov.
