Description
The Federal Bureau of Prisons, Field Acquisition Office, intends to issue a purchase order on a non-competitive basis to Joint Commission Resources, Inc., of Oakbrook, Illinios, for the provision of Joint Commission Accreditation Consulting Services. The Bureau of Prisons believes that Joint Commission Resources Inc. is the only vendor that can satisfy the agency’s requirement. These services will be provided to the Federal Medical Centers (FMCs) Devens in Ayers, Massachusetts; Rochester, Minnesota; Lexington, Kentucky; Carswell in Fort Worth, Texas; and the United States Medical Center for Federal Prisoners in Springfield, Missouri. The contractor shall provide consultation designed to assist these facilities in preparation for unannounced Joint Commission surveys, performance improvement, safety and quality, review of processes of system effectiveness, national patient safety goals, Joint Commission Standards compliance and disease-specific care certification. The vendor will also assist senior leadership to increase awareness and understanding of Joint Commission standards. The vendor must have experience providing consulting services, educational services, and publications to assist in improving quality and safety, and assisting organizations in meeting the accreditation standards of The Joint Commission. The vendor must also be an affiliate of The Joint Commission. This notice is not a request for competitive quotations and is for informational purposes only. However, should a firm desire to send information in regard to this notice, it will be considered by the Government. Information will be accepted, but only for the purpose of determining whether the requirement is non-competitive in nature. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the Government’s discretion. Information for this purpose will be accepted until 4:00 pm on May 5, 2008.
