- Description
- This is a notice of our intent to prequalify General Contractors for new construction projects for postal facilities in the State of Georgia. Prequalifications statements will be evaluated by the Contracting Officer’s staff. Primary factors will be considered are: firm’s background, construction experience, financial stability, capacity to perform, timely completion history, references, previous clients, and safety. Applications will be evaluated by the USPS committee, and all General Contractor’s will be advised within 60 days of receipt of their application as to prequalifications status. General Contractor’s selected as being the most qualified will be placed on the prequalification list. The types of buildings are Small Standard Building Design (SSBD) 4,000 – 10,000 square feet and Medium Standard Building Design (MSBD)10,000 – 25,000 square feet. The description for each follows: SSBD – The work includes, but is not limited to, wood frame construction with minimal steel frame, wood trusses, concrete slab, masonry brick, carpentry, roof shingles, insulation, hollow metal doors, glazing, gyp board, hard coat sealer over concrete floor, porcelain tile, vinyl composition tile flooring, painting, retail casework, electrical, mechanical, utilities, landscaping and other work associated with postal facilities. MSBD – The work includes, but is not limited to, steel frame construction, concrete, masonry, carpentry, standing seam metal roofing, insulation, hollow metal doors, wood doors, aluminum clad doors, metal studs, gyp board, ceramic tile, resilient flooring, vinyl composition tile flooring, carpet, painting, store fixtures, electrical, mechanical, utilities, landscaping and other work associated with postal facilities. Estimated cost range for the projects is between $500,000 and $5,000,000. Contractors will be evaluated based on references showing similar construction experience. The subcontracting goals for this contract is a minimum of 10% for minority-owned businesses, a minimum of 40% for small business enterprises, and minimum of 7% for women-owned businesses in accordance with solicitation Section H.20. Participation with women owned businesses and minority owned businesses is encouraged. Proposal Receipt Location: Southeast Facilities Service Office, ATTN: Leslie L. Contractor Prequalification Statements will not be returned. Only offers returned via personal hand delivery and/or US Postal Service (First Class Mail, Express Mail and Priority Mail) will be considered in compliance with this solicitation. Any other carriers will be rejected. This is not a request for a proposal. THERE WILL BE A PREQUALIFICATION MEETING FOR GENERAL CONTRACTORS ON THURSDAY, MAY 15, 2008 AT 1:00 PM AT THE SOUTHEAST FACILITIES SERVICE OFFICE, LOCATED AT 1735 NORTH BROWN ROAD, STE 200, LAWRENCEVILLE, GA 30043.
