Description
The U.S. Army Joint Munitions & Lethality Life Cycle Management Command will be conducting a Non-Standard Ammunition Industry Day 28 May 2008 from 0830 to 1700 at the Hilton Garden Inn, Rockaway, NJ. The definition of Non-Standard Ammunition (NSA) for the purposes of this industry day is ammunition that has not been safety tested and type classified for U.S. Army use and cannot be procured through the Army supply system. The NSA items are primarily for use in non-U.S. weapon systems. This announcement should not be construed as a Request for Proposal or a commitment by the U.S. Government. The U.S. Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this Industry Day. However, should the U.S. Government have a future requirement to procure NSA, a formal announcement will be published. The US Army will identify our proposed methodology for the procurement of NSA. Your feedback to our proposed methodology will be desired and should include identification of existing NSA technical data. Discussion will also involve: (1) Investigation of the availability of NSA, (2) discussion of quality assurance requirements and acceptance methodology for NSA items, (3) transportation and packaging standards, and (4) approval for the use of NSA technical data will also be discussed. It is also the intent of the U.S. Government to determine the level of interest in industry to participate in providing NSA. It is anticipated this will be an open discussion. Advanced registration for the Industry Day is required and must be received by Randy Shorr no later than 1600 19 May 2008. Each company may register up to five (5)) personnel to attend Industry Day. The POC listed below shall be furnished the full name, company address, and phone number of all attendees. Additionally, foreign attendees shall submit formal request for visit notification through their embassy. The passport number for foreign attendees shall also be provided to the POC. Please submit advanced application information to randy.shorr@us.army.mil or call (973) 724-9745 or (973) 724-7436. POCs will accept questions in advance of Industry Day. Questions will be addressed during the Industry Day and posted on a common website. Provisions can be made, at individual request, for one-on-one meetings. Information discussed during the meetings may be posted to the website. A website for this announcement is being established at http://www.aschq.army.mil/ac/aais/ioc. Please review periodically for updated information on the Industry Day and technical data if available. Comments and questions may be directed to Randy Shorr, randy.shorr@us.army.mil, (973) 724-7436.
