Description
Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, the U.S. Army RDECOM Acquisition Center, Natick Contracting Division, Natick, MA intends to award a Firm Fixed Price Purchase Order to Sensory Spectrum, Inc located in New Providence NJ. Sensory Spectrum, Inc will provide detailed training in the methods and procedures for participating in descriptive and quality evaluation tests of paper products. This training shall include guidelines for sample preparation, guidelines for making descriptive and quality scale judgments, proper panel etiquette, controls to avoid sample and environmental contamination, etc. The U.S. Army Natick Soldier Research, Development, and Engineering Center (NSRDEC) has responsibility for the development and testing of security paper substrates in support of other Federal agencies. As part of this mission requirement, NSRDEC has been asked to develop and implement a methodology for evaluating the sensory properties of potential paper stocks and substrates. Sensory Spectrum, Inc. employs a cross-functional team of trainers who have worldwide recognition in the development of lexicons and training protocols and in the training of sensory panels to evaluate the complex aspects of the sensory characteristics. The staff of Sensory Spectrum, Inc. has co-authored the book Sensory Evaluation Techniques, this is the industrys reference standard for sensory evaluation and which is the most widely used text on sensory evaluation in the world. Staff members have also published dozens of technical papers in the open scientific literature specifically on the topics of trained panel methodology, sensory panel training techniques, and sensory scaling. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement to the U.S. Army RDECOM Acquisition Center, Natick Contracting Division, via e-mail at stephen.abate@us.army.mil.
