- This is a Notice of Intent to award a sole source purchase order to Dr. Nathan Cherny, 727 Har Timna, Maccabim, Reut, Israel 71908. to provide 12 months of the following services, five days a week, Monday through Friday for a total of 2080 hours: research, collaborate, mentor and educate faculty and fellows and to further enhance the departmental goals and support the mission of the department in areas of international research ethics. This sole source award is in accordance with FAR Part 13.5. FAR Part 6 does not apply to this acquisition. Dr. Nathan Cherny is a member of the Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians, with a specialty accreditation in Medical Oncology and Palliative Medicine and is unique in his practical and academic skills to educate the Department of Bioethics fellows in areas of palliative care in the international setting and also to collaborate with Department of Bioethics faculty in study of the ethical issues involved in health care in developing countries, especially in the area of how to appropriate scarce resource. The Government believes that Dr. Cherny is uniquely qualified to provide these services. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement by no later than 2:00 p.m. May 10, 2008. Your response should be submitted to Jearnean Jackson jjackson@cc.nih.gov. All responses received within 10 days of the publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government to compete this proposed order based upon response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
