- Description
- The Bay Pines VA Healthcare System anticipates awarding a sole source procurement to Everybody's Tabernacle to provide care and services to homeless veterans with primary Serious Mental Illness (SMI) diagnosis; psychotic disorders, bipolar disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, major depression, other mood disorders, anxiety disorders and post-traumatic stress disorder. Care will include, but not be limited to, a supervised environment with 24-hour staffing, room and board, laundry facilities, supervised alcohol and drug free environment, active affiliation with Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) programs, supportive Social Service, structured and group activities, physical activities, and individual counseling as required. Beneficiaries receiving care under this contract will receive basic health and personal hygiene maintenance, monitoring of medications, and any other service or supplies normally provided. The per diem rate established will be an all-inclusive rate. The length of stay at the facility will be initially authorized for up to 90 days, and the number of beneficiaries is estimated at twenty (20) per day. The facility must meet the standards of the Life Safety Code (NFPA) #101, and be accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. No solicitation will be issued, however, all quotations received on or before 4:00 PM, EST, May 15, 2008 will be considered by the Government. A determination not to compete this proposed contract based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The anticipated award date is on or before May 31, 2008.
