The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Afghanistan District intends to issue a solicitation to award a Firm Fixed Price contract for the survey, design and construction of a 6m wide asphalt paved road, with 0.5m gravel shoulders from Khenj Kot (69.4545 E, 32.9348 N) to Urgun (69.14998 E, 32.90277 N) in the Paktika Province of Afghanstan. 1 The work within this contract shall meet and be constructed in accordance with the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD) and Ministry of Public Works (MPW) Road and Highway Standards, safety and security standards and other references which will be cited in Section 01015 Technical Requirement, of the contract solicitation. The award for this procurement will be made in accordance with the applicable Federal Acquisition Regulations. The applicable NAICS code is 237310 with a size standard of $31M. The magnitude of this requirement is between $10,000,000.00 and $25,000,000.00. The total schedule for completing the entire work is 600 calendar days after receipt of notice to proceed. The proposed contract will be awarded using best value evaluation methods. Solicitation Number W917PM-08-R-0077 and will be available on or about 15 May 2008 on line at the Afghanistan Engineering District (AED) Web Site http://www.aed.usace.army.mil.
