Description
L.A. Job Corps is requesting bids for a part-time California licensed mental health consultant who may be a qualified clinical psychologist. Must have current California license and own professional liability insurance. Duties include clinical interviews for purposes of evaluations, case management, group therapy, staff training and intern supervision. Five years work experience with teens and young adults in the following applied areas is desirable: 1. Previous experience in a residential school or treatment facility serving youth, such as hospital, halfway house, or vocational school. 2. Demonstrated understanding of accommodatiing students with special needs. 3. Demonstrated knowledge of community resources as obtained through experience in a vocational rehabilitation office or a community mental health center. 4. Demonstrated understanding of disadvantaged youth as obtained throuh prior employment or through personal experience. 5. Demonstrated ability to provide for staff development needs as obtained through previous organization development consultations or the design and delivery of staff training. 6. Intern supervison. 7. As a private contractor, the mental health consultant is responsible for maintaining a current license and liability insurance (at least $1 million, $3 million respectively). 8. Services will be provided on-center, 15 hours weekly. The terms of the contract will be approximately for 11 months commencing in June 2008 and continuing until April 30, 2009 with the option to extend this contract's period for up to 2 years in successive one year increments. YWCA of Greater Los Angeles operates the Los Angeles Job Corps under contract with the U.S. Department of Labor. The Job Corps is a federally funded vocational training and education program for youth ages 16-24 year and who meet certain other economic criteria. The successful bidder must also comply with Federal Acquisition Regulations clauses and be compliant under all related federal statutory requirements and regulations for the Mental Health Contract.
