- Request for Information High-Speed Video SystemFor A3 Altitude Test Stand at NASA Stennis Space CenterThe NASA, John C. Stennis Space Center has recently been selected as the test site forthe construction of a new A-3 Altitude Test Facility. The new test facility will providean altitude propulsion test capability which will enable the Constellation ProgramsExploration Launch Office, J-2X Project Element to validate the performance of the J2-Xengine for the upper stage of the new Ares I launch vehicle. The A-3 Altitude TestFacility will be constructed for long term altitude rocket propulsion testing at StennisSpace Center. While the construction of the A-3 Altitude Facility will involve a significant number ofindividual procurement actions this requirement is solely focused on the A-3 Test standHigh Speed Video System. This Request for Information (RFI) is to request industryfeedback regarding the provision, testing, and delivery and site support of the videoequipment required for the A-3 Test Stand to Stennis Space Center. Interested partiesshall indicate initial evaluation of compliance with the requirements specified withinthe attached preliminary specifications.Interested parties shall indicate the following capabilities: (See attachmentRequirements for a High Speed Video System.)This sypnosis should not be construed as a formal request for proposals but, rather a RFIrequesting information under the authority of FAR 15.201. Responses to this request forinformation are not offers and cannot be accepted by NASA to form a binding contract. This synopsis is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, nor will theGovernment pay for the information solicited.NASA does not intend to award contractsat this time, but will use information obtained for market analysis and to plan futureprocurements. NASA desires that those companies expressing an interest in the aforementioned synopsisprovide a written submission of (Statement of Capabilities) that address high-level alternatives and general,market-based approaches for performing the functions described in this synopsis. NASAwould prefer that the written submissions not contain confidential business or financialinformation relating to specific companies.All prospective companies are reminded to direct their written electronic correspondenceto the attention of: Sonia Rushing at sonia.rushing-1@nasa.gov and Jim Huk atjames.d.huk@nasa.gov. Those prospective companies shall have their Statements ofCapabilities submitted and received at Stennis Space Center no later than May 30, 2008 at3:00 PM local time. Faxed correspondence and telephone correspondence will not beaccepted.
