Description
The latest generation LCAC crew seat is a hybrid construction/marine application seat with a passive four spring mechanical suspension and a four point restraint system. The goal for the ACV replacement craft is to combine an ergonomic seat design with optimized suspension technology that minimizes operator stress and fatigue by reducing or mitigating the shock pulses and whole body vibrations associated with operating a High Speed Craft/ACV at 30-40 knots in NATO Sea State 4, IAW applicable design standards. At the same time, the seats must be rugged, durable, low maintenance and corrosion resistant. Other notional design concepts that may be explored are the inclusion of seat-mounted craft controls and displays and a configuration that allows for seated (long transit) or stand-up (close-in maneuvering) craft operation. The list of criteria below is provided to be evaluated against potential seat and suspension technology. The goal is to meet as many of these criteria as possible with an off the shelf product. An acronym description list is provided at the end of this notice to assist with description of certain technologies. SEAT AND SUSPENSION TECHNOLOGY RemarksComplies with following design standards: - ISO 2631 Part 1 and 5 - Complies with ASTM 1166-07 - MIL-STD-1472F SEAT: Cost per unitCost per 10 unitsCost per 100 units Weight Adjustable: - Height - Fore and aft - Rotating - Fixed or moveable arm rests - Lumbar support Safety restraint type Durable in harsh environments; Salt water, Sand, Dust, etc Mean time to replace: operating hours Craft control integration possible?
