- This is a Notice of Intent to award a sole source purchase order to Dr. Steve Pearson, 289 Crocker Lane, Brewster, MA 02631 to provide 5 months of the following services, five days a week, Monday through Friday a total of 880 hours: collaborative research on Ethics and Health Policy Issues, including but not limited to the ethics of technology assessment, the ethics of insurance coverage and the ethics of using information databases in the overlap between medical records and research. Help to develop and expand the Ethics and Health Policy Research unit at The National Institutes of Health in the Department of Clinical Bioethics. Collaborate with members of the DCB faculty. Mentor a fellow(s) through all aspects, both research and academic components, of her/his fellowship. This sole source award is in accordance with FAR Part 13.5. FAR Part 6 does not apply to this acquisition. Dr. Pearson is an expert in the area of Health Policy and Ethics, specifically in technology assessment, resource allocation, and the use of information database (patient medical records) in research. The Government believes that Dr. Pearson is uniquely qualified to provide these services. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement by no later than 2:00 p.m. May 17, 2008. Your response should be submitted to Jearnean Jackson jjackson@cc.nih.gov. All responses received within 10 days of the publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government to compete this proposed order based upon response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
