Description

Arnold Air Force Base (AEDC), Tennessee, has a requirement for the rebuild/rewind of up to three large electric motors. The contract will consist of one motor to be rebuilt/rewound in the base year and two additional motors to be rebuilt/rewound in future years, if funding becomes available. The motors are as follows: 6,000 horsepower (hp), wound rotor induction, double shaft, 6900 volt, 3-phase, 60Hz, 6-pole. It is intended that this work be performed at the Contractor's repair facility. The Government intends to award a single award contract. This procurement also includes installation and start-up of the new motor. Request for Proposal (RFP) with the complete specification will be available on or about 23 May 2008. The RFP and specification will only be available electronically on the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) website. Please register as a source to be notified of RFP amendments, etc. It is the responsibility of the vendor (even those registered as a source) to check the FBO website frequently to ensure they have all the available information. In accordance with FAR 52.232-18: Funds are not presently available for years FY09 and FY10. The Government's obligation under this contract is contingent upon the availability of appropriated funds from which payment for contract purposes can be made. No legal liability on the part of the Government for any payment may arise until funds are made available to the Contracting Officer for this contract and until Contractor receives notice of such availability, to be confirmed in writing by the Contracting Officer.
