Description
Sandra Day OConnor United States Courthouse 401 W Washington St. Phoenix, AZ General Overview The goal of this project is create an architecturally pleasing look to the inside of five elevator cabs at the Sandra Day OConnor Courthouse. The existing white panels are easily damaged and difficult to keep clean. Technical Requirements Provide all necessary materials, labor, supervision, design, engineering, and construction to refurbish five elevators. Contractor shall cover the existing panels in each elevator (6 on each side and six in rear) with a stainless steel mesh type cover. The hand rail along the rear wall of each elevator shall be removed and replaced with stainless steel handrail with a satin finish to match the diameter of the existing rail. The existing floor and ceiling are to remain. All work is to be performed in accordance with all applicable codes and trade practices. Contractor is to provide samples of the material to be used to cover the panels and for the handrails. All work is to be coordinated with ThyssenKrupp, the current elevator service company, to ensure that the finished product meets elevator standards and load capabilities. Safety Contractor is required to submit safety plans for Government approval prior to the start of work. At a minimum all contractors should be required to conduct and document at least one safety meeting prior to the start of any work addressing safety issues pertinent to the project. 1.The contractor shall coordinate the project and all involved parties. 2.The contractor shall not interrupt the daily activities of the building tenants. 3.The contractor shall maintain a job file and conduct a final inspection for acceptance. 4.The contractor shall follow up any punch list items to insure compliance. 5.The contractor shall leave the affected areas in a neat and clean fashion during and upon completion of work. 6.The contractor shall meet with GSA and Agency for pre-construction meeting. 7.The contractor shall submit a schedule for GSA approval before starting work. 8.The contractor shall not start work until a written Notice to Proceed is issued by GSA. 9.The contractor shall finish work in accordance with contract schedule. Service Wage Rates shall be used for this contract. Security Clearance Prior to start of work the contractor shall submit a background clearance information form for all employees that will require access to government owned space. Contract employees determined to be unsuitable will not be allowed access to the work site. Work Hours All work is to be completed after hours. On weekdays, work can start after 6pm and must complete before 6am. Saturdays and Sundays will allow for 24 hours access. Warranty The contractor shall warrant all parts and labor for a period of one year from date of acceptance, unless manufacturer warranty provides additional coverage. Site Walk A pre-proposal meeting will be conducted on Wednesday May 14th at 8am.
