Description

A site visit will be held as follows: Date: May 22, 2008 Time: 10:00 a.m. Location: Central Heating Plant, 13th & C Sts., SW, Washington, DC 20407 If you are planning to attend the site visit, please notify Barbara Garrett by 3:00 p.m. May 21, 2008. Please provide the names of your representative(s) attending, name of company and telephone number. Email: barbara.garrett@gsa.gov Fax: (202) 690-9777 Telephone: (202) 690-9720 Hard hats must be worn during the walkthrough; therefore all offerors are requested to bring hard hats. Scope of work: Remove the existing two 12-inch hotwell-to-treated water pumps gate valves and replace these valves with equivalent flanged stainless steel gate valves. Remove the existing six eight-inch TWP inlet and discharge isolation valves and replace these valves with the equivalent flanged stainless steel gate valves. Remove the three existing eight-inch discharge globe body check valves and replace these valves with equivalent flanged stainless steel silent globe body silent check valves. All newly installed fasteners (nuts, bolts) will be stainless steel and will be installed with stainless steel washers. All nuts will be bearing on their associated washers. There will be a need to fabricate or purchase flexitallic gaskets for the flanged connections associated with each of the newly installed valves. Cut sheets of the new valves to be installed will be required to be submitted to and approved by GSA Project Manager before construction is to commence. This solicitation will be issued on/about May 28, 2008 and the due date will be on/or about June 23, 2008.
