- Description
- In accordance with FAR subpart 13.106-1(b), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to issue a sole source purchase order to The Imperial College of Science Technology and Medicine, in London, United Kingdom. The purpose of this purchase order is to edit, publish, and distibute the special issue of "Sexually Transmitted Disease Prevention: From Efficacy to Effectiveness; From Effectiveness to Impact". The tasks to be performed under this purchase order are as follows: a. The vendor shall copyedit, lay out, and publish the special issue. This process includes the introduction to the special issue, along with an acknowledgement paragraph, a table of contents, and the papers described previously. b. The Sexually Transmitted Infections shall provide galley proofs of the final versions of the papers to the guest editor and to first authors of the papers in.pdf form no later than six weeks after CDC approval of the issue's content. c. The guest editor and first authors of the papers shall provide their final comments on the galley proofs to Sexually Transmitted Infections no later than six days after the receipt of the galley proofs from the Journal. d. The vendor shall mail copies of the special issue, Sexually Transmitted Infections, to all subscribers upon publication. The vendor will also make the special issue available to subscribers to its controlled access website. The Imperial College of Science Technology and Medicine is the only known, responsible source capable of reaching the required, targeted global audience. Interested parties who feel that they possess the capabilities to provide the services described above should submit a capability statement demonstrating their abilities to provide the services. The information received in response to this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive requirement. A determination by the CDC not to compete this proposed contract, based upon responses to this notification, is solely within discretion of the government.
