Description
The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is soliciting proposals from qualified 8 (a) firms under North American Industry Classification (NAICS) Code 511120 for a project entitled “Publishing, Public Affairs and Knowledge Transfer Communications Support for OCKT.” The mission of AHRQ is to improve the quality, safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of health care by using evidence to improve health care, improving health care outcomes through research, and transforming research into practice. AHRQ principal responsibilities are to: conduct and sponsor research that develops information that can be used by decision makers in the public and private sectors; and ensure that information resulting from its research, demonstration, and evaluation activities is disseminated rapidly, widely, and in a readily usable form. The Office of Communications and Knowledge Transfer (OCKT) is an integral coordinator of the Agency's publishing, dissemination, and translation activities. OCKT is the organizational unit of AHRQ that is responsible for ensuring that Agency products and sponsored research are available to a wide array of customers in a variety of print and electronic formats. In support of these activities, AHRQ is soliciting for a contractor to provide writing, editing and production of Agency print and electronic tools and products that result from its research; public affairs, marketing, knowledge transfer, audience research; media interactions; and information and communication dissemination activities. On-site staff is necessary due to the immediate nature of the work, the need to interact closely with program staff throughout the Agency on a regular basis, and the need to have attendance at meetings and other quick-turnaround activities. It is anticipated that 1 contract will be awarded for a period of 3 years with 2 one year options. Award is expected no later than September 1, 2008. In addition to the solicitation being available on this site, it will also be available for downloading from the internet on AHRQs website at www.ahrq.gov. It is the offerors responsibility to monitor this site for release of the solicitation, download their own copy of the solicitation, and monitor the site for any subsequent amendments. Since it is not known who is downloading the solicitation, a bidders list will not be available. All responsible 8(a) firms may submit a proposal which will be evaluated by AHRQ. It is estimated that the solicitation will be issued on or about May 27, 2008, with proposals due approximately 30 days thereafter.
