Description
SOURCES SOUGHT - SSA is in the process of determining the acquisition strategy to perform the replacement of the Supply Building conveyor system for the Social Security Administration, Woodlawn, MD. This is a Sources Sought Notice for Small Businesses certified under Section 8(a) of the Small Business Act, Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) Act of 1997, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business Program (SDVOSB) or Small Business. The contractor shall furnish the necessary material, mechanical installation and electrical wiring required to replace the current conveyor system in the picking area, the accumulation between picking and packing and the packing area as well as palletizing in the new configuration. The trash conveyor is to be replaced as well.. The period of performance is six months. The government expects to make an award on or about July 2008. This acquisition will be issued as a Request for Proposal (RFP) after review of the responses from this announcement. The government seeks industry input to determine if this acquisition should be set aside for 8(a), HUBZone, SDVOSB or Small Business under the auspices of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 19. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 333922 with a size standard of 500 employees. Interested firms who are certified and/or qualified as either 8(a), HUBZone, SDVOSB or Small Business in NAICS 333922 should submit a package outlining their capabilities as relevant to the performance of this requirement. (No large businesses should respond to this announcement) Interested firms are encouraged to respond and submit their capability statement(s) to this office NLT 2:00 p.m. ET on May 22, 2008. Please address the four (4) Small Business criteria questions below. SMALL BUSINESS CRITERIA QUESTIONS: Criteria 1: Do you intend to bid as a prime contractor on this effort, and can your company perform 51 percent of the required estimated labor dollars involved? Criteria 2: Statement that your company is certified and qualifies as an 8(a), HUBZone, SDVOSB or Small business concern in North American Industrial Classification System Code (NAICS) 333922, which has a small business threshold of 500 employees. Criteria 3: Degree of experience in providing same or similar services to include past corporate and Government contracts with current references and points of contact. Criteria 4: Evidence of financial capability and technical/management resources to support a requirement of this nature and size as detailed in the attached draft Statement of Work (SOW). Please provide this package via email to Ms. Denita Patterson at denita.patterson@ssa.gov. The government plans to use the Internet and e-mail as the primary means of disseminating and exchanging information. Hard copies of documents posted on FBO will not be made available. The government will provide email confirmation of receipt of your statements. If companies do not receive an email confirmation after submitting their package, they are urged to verify receipt telephonically at 410-966-4666. Interested sources that believe they have the ability to perform the services required should submit a detailed statement of their capabilities in writing indicating reference number RFI-08-1072 to Denita Patterson, Contract Specialist, via email at denita.patterson@ssa.gov. Responses must be received by 2:00 p.m. ET on May 22, 2008.
