- NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE: The Department of Energy(DOE)/National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) intends to award a sole source contract to Dillon Aero Inc., 8009 E. Dillons Way, Scottsdale, AZ 85260-1809 for seventeen (17) each M240 weapon mount assembly units, which includes a M3 receptacle to vertical arm post adapter, part number DA0040, vertical arm assembly-SS, part number, DA0200S, cradle assembly, part number DGMT0050 and a magazine tray, part number CHMT0055. In addition, sixty-five (65) each, ammo can assemblies, part number DAB400 will be purchased to support the weapon and mount units. The North American Industry Classification System Code is 332994. This requirement is to be compatible with the current SRV-5 vehicle weapon deployment system allowing full range of motion and rotation and commercially available over the counter (COTS) due to the urgent need to deploy the SRV-5 weapon system. This synopsis is approved for a sole source contract action as authorized by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, which states only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements and Section 303(c)(1) of the CICA, Pub. L98-369, which allows executive agencies to use procedures other than competitive procedures when the property or service needed by the executive agency are available from only one responsible source and no other type of property or services will satisfy the needs of the executive agency. (41 U.S.C Section 253(c)(1). No solicitation package will be issued. Sources may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals but must provide proof of capability to provide an acceptable product by submitting pricing data, an accurate description of the equipment offered, and make and model numbers of the equipment. All proposals received within 15 days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If no favorable responses are received by close of business (2:00 PM EST) May 30, 2008, a contract will be negotiated with the above named source. This notice of intent to award will only be available electronically at the IPPS website. No hardcopies, faxes, or emails will be available. Please register as a source to be notified of RFP Amendments, Clarifications, etc. However, it is the responsibility of contractors (even those registered as a source) to check the IPPS website frequently to ensure they have all available information.
