- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR 12.6, simplified acquisition procedures and the resultant purchase order will include all applicable provisions and clauses in effect through the Federal Acquisition Circular 05-24. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation and a written solicitation will not be issued. This synopsis, NAICS code 334516, is to notify contractors that the government intends to issue a Purchase Order in accordance with FAR Part 13.106 for the following statement of work, under the simplified acquisition procedures. This is a 100% total small business set-aside. Prospective offerors are responsible for downloading the solicitation and any amendments. It is the offeror's responsibility to monitor the FedBizOpps website for the release of any amendments to this solicitation. Hard copies will be provided to individuals eligible under the Americans with Disabilities Act and Rehabilitation Act upon request. The Government reserves the right to award a contract without discussions if the Contracting Officer determines that the initial offer(s) is/are providing the Best Value and discussions are not necessary. This solicitation is issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ) The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) intends to award a purchase order to purchase to purchase a "Gamma spectroscopy sample changer". SPECIFICATIONS are as follows: Gamma spectroscopy sample changer Model 6000N-6, handles a single sample tray with 100 20ml LSC or similar vials. This unit is 56" wide, 34" deep, and 80+" high. Qty 1 This unit has a stepped ID shield starting 6" x 6" x 8" high with a 4" wall stepping out to 10x10" for an additional 8 or 12 inches of height at 2" walls. Cu/Sn graded lead shield on the inside. Price includes extended height frame, and extended Z travel for 16" IH (Internal Height) shield The shield bottom is 4" Pb with a step down bushing from 5" OD down to an ID as required for the NIST supplied HPGe detector. System has imbedded DOS controller for machine operation and functions as a RS232 slave device Further extension of shield height, frame height, and Z travel for a 20" IH shield option Qty 1 Internal lead to extend the 4" wall thickness from 8" high to 12" high Qty 1 Automated Lid with 2" thick of Lead (Cu/Sn grading) (the auto lid can be defeated to use the pull back feature) Qty 1 ALARA shielding walls on front, back and outside end of the tray area. Steel covers to use standard 2x4x8" Pb bricks, nominal 2" thick by 4" high by length of the tray plate Qty 1 Replacement of the standard drip pan under the sample tray with a plate to support the weight of the walls Sample tray (One 10x10 for 20ml LSC) Qty 1 Side panels L/R Qty 2 In frame dewar suspension -- Dewar support plate suspended from the shield plate to keep the detector dewar near but off the floor, suspended from the system frame Qty 1 Win-Robot sample Queue builder software. For operation with Ortec Maestro/Gamma Vision or CI Genie-PC spectroscopy software. (Running MS-Win XP NOT Vista) Qty 1 NIST specific sample changer control via a pair of TTL lines electrical signals, timing, and logic still to be defined Qty 1 Detector fixture for centering samples Qty 1 Local LCD monitor on the machine Qty 1 Operators manuals and documentation Qty 1 System Integration (not calibration) Installation assistance 2 days on site Shipping cost(specify fob destination or fob origin) EVALUATION FOR AWARD All evaluation factors, when combined, are approximately equal to cost or price.
