- This notice is being posted as an avenue to provide Request for Quotation W912HN-08-T-0048. In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 5.202 (a)(13), Exceptions to publicizing contract actions, there will not be a pre-solicitation notice posted for this required action. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information in this notice. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT CONSTITUTES THE ONLY SOLICITATION; QUOTES ARE BEING REQUESTED AND A WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. This is a small business set-aside. The NAICS code for the requirement is 333612. The size standard for this NAICS code is 500 employees. This solicitation document incorporates provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 05-25. Description of Requirement: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Wilmington, NC request the procurement of a Hydraulic Power Take-Off Marine Gear Box. The Twin Disc HPTO-244 is the only platform compatible with the current configuration of the USACE floating plant’s propulsion system. The following, list the specific requirements desired: General Description: The Item requested is to be a Twin Disc model HPTO-244 with a 1 to 1 ratio or equal. 1. The gear box shall be designed and constructed in strict accordance with all applicable standards and in accordance with sound engineering practices for marine gearboxes. 2.The unit shall feature a disconnect clutch within the bellhousing, aluminum gear case, lube oil circulating pump and 24V electric shift. 3.The gear box shall be driven by a Caterpillar Diesel Engine model 3406E with left hand rotation, as viewed from the flywheel. It shall have a SAE #1 flywheel adapter and torsional drive assembly 4.The gear box shall be equipped with a Society of Automotive Engineers SAE #1 bellhousing. The disconnect clutch shall be provided within the gear housing. 5.The gear box shall be capable of power input of 450 HP at 1800 rpm for continuous duty. 6.The gear box output shaft flange shall be the standard Twin Disc flange. 7.The gear box shall have circulating oil pumps capable of circulating lube oil through the engine jacketed oil cooler to cool the oil. 8.The gear box will be painted with Caterpillar Diesel’s two part urethane yellow. 9.The Contractor shall be responsible for all preparation, scheduling, and shipping of the marine gear box to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Repair Yard, ATTN: Kenneth Bailey, 232 Battleship Rd, Wilmington NC, 28401 10.The bid price shall include the cost of crating and shipping (FOB Destination). FAR 52.212-1 - Instructions of Offerors-Commercial Items; FAR 52.212-2 - Evaluation-Commercial Items; FAR 52.212-3 - Offeror Representations and Certifications-Commercial Items (INCLUDE A COMPLETED COPY WITH QUOTE); FAR 52.212-4 - Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items; FAR 52.212-5 - Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders-Commercial Items; FAR 52.232-33 – Payment by Electronic Funds Transfer – Central Contractor Registration. FAR 52.204-7 – Central Contractor Registration; Contractors must be registered with the Central Contractor Registration (CCR); the web site for registration is http://www.ccr.gov. The completed Offeror Representations and Certifications-Commercial Items (FAR 52.212-3) must be submitted along with each quote. QUOTES ARE DUE NO LATER THAN NOON, EASTERN STANDARD TIME, on 30 May 2008. YOU ARE ENCOURAGED TO SUBMIT QUOTES ELECTRONICALLY.
