Description
Project Title: Thunderbolt Continental Divide National Scenic Trail (CDNST) Construction, located on the Jefferson Ranger District of the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest. Description of Work: The Thunderbolt CDNST No. 330 Project is 2.1 miles long and consists of 2.0 miles of trail construction and 0.1 miles of trail reconstruction. Items of work are: offset construction stakes, clearing and grubbing, slash filters, excavation, rock excavation, grade dips, remove boulders, turnpike, side ditch, geosynthetics, borrow, leadoff ditches, trail reconstruction, rock water bars, posts, signs, tree blaze, and trail obliteration. The Trail No. 66 project consists of five sections of turnpike and/or culvert work consisting of turnpike geosynthetics, leadoff ditches, borrow, culverts and head walls. Project Location: The Thunderbolt CDNST Trail No. 330 and Trail No. 66 Projects are located on the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest, Jefferson Ranger District, ten miles northwest of Basin, Montana. The Thunderbold CDNST Trail Project is located on the north side of Thunderbolt Mountain in the W ½, NW ¼ Section 26 and W ½ Section 23, T7N, R7W. The project begins northeast of the summit of Thunderbolt Mountain and continues 2.1 miles northerly along the Continental Divide to a saddle. The Trail No. 66 Project is located in the W ½ Section 35, T7N, R7W. The project can be accessed from Basin, Montana by traveling north on Interstate 15, four miles to the Bernice exit, then west on Road No. 82, 6.5 miles to Road No. 1588, then north 5.3 miles on Road No. 1588 to the Saratoga Mine Trailhead and the beginning of Trail No. 66. No pre-bid tour will be conducted. A Firm-Fixed Price contract is expected to result from this solicitation. Price range: $50,000 to $100,000. The solicitation will be available on approximately 5 June 2008, and can be downloaded from this website at that time.
