Description

EXTENT OF THE WORK: Existing conditions for contractor verification: 1.The existing joists are 2x4s. 2.The joist spacing is approximately 16” on center. 3.The joist span is approximately 67”. 4.The plywood decking is 1-1/8”. 5.The length of each corridor is approximately 200 lineal feet. Scope of work: Contractor is responsible for all incidental materials and other items required to provide the complete finished product. 1.Remove existing floor/decking as required for installation of new joists. Remove existing baseboard. The contractor may remove only the center 4’ of decking or just that sufficient to install the new joists. 2.Provide new 2x4 joists between each existing joist. Where weak or split joists are found, replace with new joist or provide “sister” joist glued and screwed to existing. 3.Provide three rows of solid blocking the length of each corridor 4.Provide new 1-1/8” plywood decking or two plywood layers equal to the existing thickness glued and screwed together. Stagger joints and screw firmly into the joist through both plywood layers. 5.Provide carpet release agent over the new decking to allow for future carpet replacement. 6.Provide new carpet and 4” resilient base Contractor is responsible for clean up and removal and disposal of all materials removed from the demolition process and removal and disposal of all trash generated by this project.
