Description
The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (Metro) requests your proposal for The Wireless Communication Infrastructure (WCI). This solicitation consists of two (2) required components (Base WCI and Public Safety Coverage) and one (1) optional component (WMATA Wireless Network (WWN)). This solicitation will result in a Finance, Design, Build, Operate, and Maintain contract. No costs shall be incurred by Metro for the Base WCI component nor the WWN component and the successful Offeror shall share in the total revenues collected. However, there are possible solutions for Public Safety Coverage for which it is acceptable for WMATA to pay, these solutions are identified in Section 1.4.2.2 of the Statement of Work at Attachment 1 of the Division 0, RFP. In addition to the to the Statement of Work in Attachment 1, please pay particular attention to the draft Master License Agreement in Attachment 2 and Board Resolutions and Regulations in Attachment 3 of Division 0 - RFP. This Solicitation is organized into three (3) Volumes as follows: •Volume 1: Contains Division 0 – RFP (which also contain the Statement of Work at Attachment 1, the draft master License Agreement at Attachment 2, WMATA Regulations Concerning the Use of WMATA Property at Attachment 3, and, Non-Disclosure at Attachment 4); The following volumes contain recommended and informational data for the design-build part of the RFP. •Volume 2: Division 1 – General Design Requirements and Design Criteria; Divisions 2 through 16 - Standard and Technical Specifications (as applicable) •Volume 3: Contains Safety Documents and Manuals Volumes 1, 2 and 3 may be downloaded from Metro’s website in compressed file format. Please go to http://www.wmata.com/bus2bus/sol/view.cfm?solicitation_id=1731 for downloading these documents. A Pre-Proposal Conference/Site Visit is scheduled for June 9, 2008. Please see Notice to Offerors on page 12 of Division 0 – RFP for more details. Proposals must be received as stated in the Request for Proposal at Room 301, 600 Fifth Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20001.
