- This is a Source Selection Best Value Solicitation to provide for a Mechanical Construction Multiple Award Construction Contract (MACC) for mechanical construction, alteration and repair to Government facilities by means of an indefinite delivery indefinite quantity MACC for various facilities in the North Carolina area. A maximum six (6) indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) Multiple Award Construction Contracts for Mechanical Construction Projects in North Carolina will be awarded as a result of this solicitation. Task orders issued under this MACC will be design build or design bid build. The performance period for each contract will include an initial base period of twelve months with four (4) twelve-month option periods for a total performance period of sixty months. The maximum annual value of the contract is $50,000,000. For the total performance period (base plus all options) total estimated construction costs for all contracts will not exceed a total value of $250,000,000. The minimum guarantee is $5,000 per contract over the full term of the contract to include option years. Typical projects will have an estimated construction cost between $50,000 up to $5,000,000. There will be a seed project included in this solicitation. SEED PROJECT: The request for proposal will include an initial 100% design bid build seed project: Building 315 Add Heat Pumps, Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune, NC. The work includes removal of an existing DX air conditioning system with steam heat, removal/modification on window air conditioning and security bars, and removal and backfill of a mechanical pit, to include domestic hot water station, steam pressure reducing station, and condensate pump/tank station. The work also includes removal of steam service to the building completely back to the steam pit and providing heat pumps, ducting, water heater, water piping/valve and incidental related work. The approximate Solicitation Release Date is 10 June 2008. This solicitation is available in electronic format only. All documents will be in the Adobe Acrobat PDF file format via the Internet.
