The RFQ will not be issued earlier then May 29, 2008. The solicitation will be available by electronic posting and and may be found at www.fedbizopps.gov or http://ideasec.nbc.gov. Contracting Officer is Debra Velmere, debbie.velmere@dot.gov, (415) 744-4140. NAICS is 811310 Size Standard is $6.5 SIC is 7699. RFQ is set aside to small businesses. The intent of this statement of work is to remanufacture (1) owner-supplied Detroit Diesel 12V71 engine that serves as a spare main propulsion engine, and one (1) owner-supplied Detroit Diesel 3V71 engine that serves as a generator prime mover for Suisun Bay Reserve Fleet's YSD-type self-propelled crane barge. Engine particulars: "One (1) each Detroit Diesel model 12V71, naturally aspirated "Series 7124-3002"Serial Number 12 YA 10285"Right Hand rotation"Operating Hours: approx 7700 hours run time since last rebuild"No known issues "One (1) each Detroit Diesel model 3V71, naturally aspirated"Series 1033-7005"Serial Number 3A93533"Right Hand rotation"Operating Hours: approx 3500 hours run time since last rebuild"Issues: Engine has major oil leak at the rear crankshaft seal and may require resurfacing of seal journal or replacement of the crankshaft. The contractor shall pick up the engines for remanufacturing and return them when all work specified herein is complete. (1) Contractors are required to register or update their registration at the Central Contractor Registration website at www.ccr.gov in order to receive a contract award under this solicitation. (2) No paper copies of the solicitation will be available. The Department of Transportation (DOT), Short-Term Lending Program (STLP) offers working capital financing in the form of lines of credit to finance accounts receivable for transportation related contracts.
