Description
The National Marine Fisheries, Southwest Fisheries Science Center and Laboratories that are located in La Jolla, California has a requirement for professional, technical and analytical scientific support services. This work requires support at the Ph.D., Master's and Bachelor degree levels. Key personnel include Program Managers, Scientists, Biological Technicians, GIS Technicians, Scientific Technical Writers, and Scientific Data Managers. A background in science, technology, engineering, and math is required as well as experience in the use of UNIX, LINUX and/or Windows operating systems. The Government requires that all Scientists have at least a baccalaureate degree or equivalent in physical and biological sciences. This includes studies in the following disciplines: math, statistics, engineering, computer science, physiology, molecular biology, genetics, systematics, oceanography, fishery biology, ecology, as well as support in the service areas of foreign language translation, library sciences and research, scientific illustration, safety and environmental, technical and non-technical writing, and scientific editing. The Contractor shall be responsible for providing overall management of administrative issues pertaining to all Contractor personnel issues; technical and contractual support including state and local requirements; and, insurance and liability coverage for its employees. Period of performance is one year from date of award. The performance may be in La Jolla, Santa Cruz, Long Beach, and Pacific Grove, California; as well as, vessel charters and specified research sites at various locations in the United States. Contractors should have capabilities and facilities to provide all labor, materials, supplies, and equipment to perform the work. It is anticipated that an IDIQ contract providing for fixed price and labor hour task orders will be awarded on the behalf of the Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Western Region Acquisition Division (WRAD). This procurement is 100% small business set aside. The North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) is 541712 with a size standard of 500 employees. Documents for the Request for Proposals (RFP) will be available on or about June 12, 2008, to download through the Governments website at http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. No paper copies will be issued. Interested parties should use the FedBizOpps [REGISTER TO TECEIVE NOTIFICATION] and [REGISTER AS AN INTERESTED VENDOR] features which provide notification when the RFP becomes available for download as well as all postings of information associated with this solicitation, thereafter.
