- Project Title: Hand Tree Thinning & Slash Treatment, Custer National Forest. This project consists of 2 units. Item 1 approximately 316 acres of hand tree feeling with slash treatment on the Sioux Ranger District of the Custer National Forest, and Item 2. is approximately 422 acres of hand tree felling on the Ashland Ranger District of the Custer National Forest. Contractor shall furnish labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, operating supplies, and incidental supplies necessary to perform the work. The awarded contract will be performance base which requires the contractor to provide a quality control plan with the technical proposal. This plan must demonstrate how the contractor will assure quality meets the requirements and specifications of the contract. This includes the monitoring of quality while work is in progress. A firm fixed price contract will be awarded. Award maybe made for one or both items. A prepoposal conference will be held on July 8, 2008 beginning at 9:00 a.m. to review Item 1: Ekalaka Hills Thinning/Laka Breaks Timber Stand Improvement and associated slash treatment. Meet at the Sioux Ranger District, Camp Crook, South Dakota. A prepoposal conference will be held on July 9, 2008 beginning at 10:00 a.m. to review Item 2: Fly Wilbur Timber Stand Improvement/Goodspeed Thinning and associated slash treatment. Meet at the Ashland Ranger District, Ashland, Montana. Government estimated price range is $100,000 to $500,000. The project will be set aside for small business. The solicitation packet will be available on approximately June 16, 2008 and can be downloaded from this site at that time.
