Description
The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) has a requirement for research and development efforts to develop and further promote knowledge and technologies for advanced crash analyses to improve highway and vehicle safety and infrastructure security. FHWA intends to award an Indefinite Deliver/Indefinite Quantity contract for this requirement. Efforts include the following: conducting advanced crash research; finite element modeling and crash simulations, reverse engineering of vehicles, analyzing occupant risks using models and anthropomorphic dummies, assessing vehicle safety, advancing crash analysis methods and technologies (including high performance computing); maintaining FHWA and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) crash test videos/films and documentation; clinical analyses of crash reports, conducting crash and impact testing to support modeling efforts, operating and maintaining testing and lab facilities; supporting multifaceted outreach and educational opportunities; and disseminating the findings of the research and applications of advanced technologies. It is anticipated that the resulting Indefinite Delivery/ Indefinite Quantity contract duration will be for a 24 month base period with three 12 month option periods. It is anticipated that this requirement will be Full and Open to all sources. The solicitation, all related documents and amendments, if any, will only be released and available electronically through the FedBizOpps posting system at http://www.Fedbizopps.gov under the Vendors option followed by selection of the Department of Transportation (DOT) center. As such, no written, telephonic, facsimile or email requests for the solicitation package will be honored. Interested parties can register at the aforementioned site to receive procurement announcements by email. Since this solicitation will only be available electronically, it is solely the responsibility of interested parties to monitor the FedBizOpps website for any solicitation amendments. The NAICS code for this solicitation is 541712. All responsible sources are encouraged to submit an offer.
