Description

Hot Springs National Park will issue a new Request for Proposals (RFP) on June 1, 2008, to solicit proposals from the private sector for long-term leases of three historic buildings - the Superior, Hale, and Maurice Bathhouses. "Though interest to lease the bathhouses for commercial operations is still high, no proposals were submitted for the RFP that closed on April 30, 2008," stated the park's Concessions and Leasing Specialist Diane East. "We are issuing the new RFP through September 30, 2008, and hope that we receive proposals for all three of the remaining vacant buildings." The three historic buildings offered are part of the Bathhouse Row National Historic Landmark District which contains a total of eight historic bathhouses known as the grandest collection of their kind in America. The historic buildings are arrayed in a continuous row along Central Avenue, opposite the City of Hot Spring's "Main Street" style commercial streetscape. The buildings were built between 1892 and 1916 and range in size from over 10,000 square feet to almost 23,000 square feet.
