- Project Title: Radome Platform, JITC Bldg 900, Indian Head, MD Project # PLATFORM 122107 Project Leader: Ron Dixon, 301-744-2613, email: ron.dixon@disa.mil Customer POC: E.T. Smith 301-744-2739, email: Edward.smithl.ctr@disa.mil Assistant POC: Nathan Burd 301-744-2690, email nathan.burd.ctr@disa.mil Fax: 301-744-2783 SCOPE OF WORK: The following items are the architectural, structural, mechanical and electrical requirements for the subject project: Electrical: None Mechanical: •Using galvanized steel or aluminum, construct and install a working platform approximately 45' x 31' x 24" high on the roof of building 900 •Platform to have support legs welded to the "Z" beams below the roof line •Support legs to have thru bolts to the platform legs above •Furnish and install 2 or 3 stairs and safety railing •Railing height on east side of platform (side facing parking lot) to be minimum of 42" in height. Railing on remaining side to be minimum of 32" in height •Stairs to be installed on northwest corner of platform •Platform surface to be made of removable non-skid mesh grating sections (for installation of cables, conduit, power, etc.)to prevent water, snow, etc. from accumulating on platform surface. The mesh sections will need to be manageable size, so one person can lift and remove them safely. •Weather and wind conditions must be taken into account throughout the planning and installation processes • Platform must be grounded and safeguarded against lightning. The existing grounding layout can be utilized. Notes: Platform can be constructed off site, and then raised to roof using crane or appropriate means. The dome, which will be installed later on platform is approximately 1,850 lbs, stands 23' high, and 22' in diameter. The dish which will be installed inside dome weighs approximately 1,100 lbs.
