Description
Anniston Army Depot (ANAD) is conducting a market research investigation to identify commercially available replacements for trichloroethylene in a vapor degreaser that provide improved environmental compliance and employee health and safety. Interested firms are requested to submit a full disclosure MSDS along with product literature and published pricing information. The selected source will be prepared to demonstrate acceptability of their product to degrease ANAD parts at a location designated by the source at no cost to the government. ANAD will not consider N-Propyl Bromide based solvents due to odor issues associated with this family of products. ANAD will not consider chemical degreasers that are subject to the EPAs National Emission Standard for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) and designated as a Hazardous Air Pollutant. ANAD is seeking a drop in chemical replacement for use in an existing vapor degreaser designed to utilize TCE. Any information submitted will not be returned and no payment will be made by the Government for such information. If successful, the sources chemical will function in ANADs degreaser with little or no modification to the degreaser. Interested companies are requested to provide MSDSs, brochures, literature (to include a listing of any equipment or instrumentation changes such as operating temperatures and utility requirements typically required to convert a vapor degreaser from trichloroethylene to the sources product), certifications, published price lists, etc., showing they can meet these requirements not later than 5 days after synopsis appears in the ASFI. Information must be submitted electronically. Information may be faxed to 256-235-6353 or sent to MAJ Anthony Hughley at anthony.hughley@us.army.mil.
