Only a microscope objective from Carl Zeiss microImaging will be fully compatible with this existing microscope system. The explanation for this is as follows: microscope objectives from different manufacturer such as Zeiss, Nikon, Olympus and Leica are often (and in this specific case) propriety to the microscope systems from that manufacture, and are not usually interchangeable between manufactures. While microscope objectives from these manufacturer may share many important primary specifications related to application and performance, a variety of secondary optical and mechanic parameters often do not match. These objective specifications are matched to the many proprietary parameters of the microscope systems from each manufacturer, and are essential for performing microscopy correctly. The specifications for the objectives needed are as follows: Magnification: 100X Numerical Aperture: 1.4 Cover Glass Thickness: 0.17 mm Thread Type: M27 by 0.75 Immersion Medium: Oil Field of View: 25 mm Parfocal Length: 45.06 mm Tube Length: Infinite Reference Focal Length of Tube Lens: Zeiss Infinity Color Corrected System Flat Field Correction: Plan Aberration Correction: Apochromat Specialized Optical Properties: DIC Carl Ziess is the only source able to perform the entire work required. The Government anticipates the award of a firm-fixed price purchase order. This notice of intent is to a request for competitive quotations: however, companies that believe they can fulfill the requirement may provide a written response to this notice and provide evidence to substantiate that capability. A determinations by the government whether to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government, Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competition.
