Description
The California Institute of Technologys (Caltech) Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL),operating under a prime contract with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration(NASA), is seeking the interest of Small Disadvantaged Businesses (SDBs) to provideReliability Engineering Support Services.BACKGROUND: JPL is in the process of identifying the number of potential companies thatperform Reliability and Mission Assurance activities for NASA Flight projects.REQUEST FOR INFORMATION: Specifically, JPL is interested in SDBs that engage in or couldprovide local personnel to support the following activities: (A) Perform reliability analyses to include electronic parts stress analysis (PSA), worstcase analysis (WCA), failure mode, effects and criticality analysis (FMECA),problem/failure reporting reliability assessments, modeling prediction trade off studies,systems evaluations and identifying engineering corrective actions; (B) Performenvironmental analyses to include dynamic evaluations and testing (vibration, acoustic,and shock); natural space environmental modeling; thermal evaluation, testing andreporting; electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing and reporting; and (C) Performprobablistic risk assessments (PRA) and systems engineering on NASA flight hardware orspacecraft.RESPONSES: Your response should be a maximum of three (3) paragraphs highlighting companycapabilities. Please submit your response to JPL no later than June 30, 2008.DISCLAIMER: It is emphasized that the requested information is for preliminary planningpurposes only and does not constitute a commitment, implied or otherwise, that JPL willsolicit you for such procurement in the future.
