- Description
- The Directorate of Contracting- Fort Carson, CO intends to the issue a solicitation for the installation of new underground electrical lines, vaults, pad mounted switches, transformers, street lights, communication copper and fiber lines, power poles with risers, conduits, demolition of over head lines and utility poles, throughout the base cantonment area. The contractor will required to video tape all areas prior to the start of work and document existing conditions and provide two copies to the Government. Work also includes directional boring/jacketing under the roads as shown on the drawings and restoring or patching all asphalt or concrete side-walks, parking lots, or roads and improved areas disturbed by the work. The intention of this project is to update Fort Carsons electrical distribution switching capabilities and provide backup loops to add redundancy to Fort Carson Electrical system. The NAICS code for this procurement is 237130 with a size standard of $31,000,000.00. This will be a 100% Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business Set-aside. Davis Bacon requirements will apply and 100% performance and payment bonds will be required. The estimated magnitude of construction for this procurement is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000. The Government anticipates a solicitation release date on or about 20 June 2008 with a closing date of 30 days after the solicitation is released. The period of performance will be dependent upon the actual closing date of Invitation for Bid. It is antcipated that entire solicitation, including the specifications and drawings, will be made available only on the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) web site at http://www.fbo.gov at that time. Interested offerors are responsible for monitoring this site for the release of the solicitation package and any other pertinent information and for downloading their own copy of the solicitation package. In order to receive award of a contract, contractors MUST be registered in the Central Contractor Registration database or their proposal will not be considered. Contractors can obtain further information on the CCR website at http://www.ccr.gov. Contractors should also be registered at ORCA through www.bpn.gov Prospective offerors who would like their company name included on the Bidders Mailing List may do so on the FBO website under Interested Vendors List. This notice does not obligate the Government to award a contract or multiple contracts nor does it obligate the Government to pay for any bid/proposal preparation costs. All parties are advised that this project may be revised or canceled at any time during the solicitation, selection, evaluation, negotiation, and final award.
