Description
Introduction: As part of market research, this Request for Information (RFI) will be used to determine if there are sources capable to provide repair and testing of microwave components used to operate Tyndall AFB ACMI Range. A firm fixed price blanket purchase agreement is contemplated for the support of this requirement. If adequate interest is received through market research, the Request for Proposal (RFP) will be placed on the Federal Business Opportunities website http://www.eps.gov. It will be the responsibility of prospective offerors to check this site regularly for any postings or changes. Prospective offerors must be registered in the DoD Central Contractor Registration (CCR) through http://www.ccr.gov. Provide your company?s experience with command and control training systems, training simulator development and sustainment and any information you deem relevant in (5) five pages or less through e-mail to the individuals listed below as the contract specialist and contracting officer. Also provide your size standard (small, large business, non-profit, 8(a), etc), a point-of-contact to include a phone number, an e-mail address, your Federal Cage Code and Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS) as an attachment to the five pages. Only electronic responses (e-mail) will be accepted and are due NLT COB 3:00 CST 11 Jun 2008. NOTE: This information is for market research only. This is not a RFP or an indication that the government will contract for this requirement. The government will not pay for information received in response to this RFI and is in no way obligated by the information received. SCOPE: The work covered herein consists of the operation necessary for the repair and testing of microwave components used to operate Tyndall AFB ACMI Range. CHARACTER OF WORK AND MECHANICS: All operations will be IAW T.O 43D17-3-48-1-2, manufactures manuals and contractor alignment procedures. All maintenance and extraneous costs incurred will be borne by the Contractor. All deviations are the responsibility of the Contractor and as such final responsibility for acceptance rest solely with the contractor. Any maintenance or request beyond applicable statement of work will be pre-coordinated to the maximum extent possible and pre-approved by the contractor and the Functional Director of ACMI if at all possible. EQUIPMENT: Provided by contractor; all applicable insurance, maintenance and recurring service/inspection costs. MAINTENANCE REQUIRED: Provide repair capability for microwave components that are not adjustable within tolerance IAW T.O. 43 D17-1-2. Use drawings, schematics, and locally developed settings to fine tune microwave components to work within the ACMI Range Remote Interrogators that serve as the link from land and ocean towers to Tyndall display system. This system is vital to the training needed to prepare fighter pilots throughout the DOD and NATO in the response to threats to National Security.
