Description
NOTICE OF INTENT TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), Health Effects Laboratory Division (HELD), Allergy and Clinical Immunology Branch (ACID), Morgantown, West Virginia hereby announces its intent to issue a purchase order to West Virginia University for A Field Study to Measure the Amount of Airbourne Transmission of Influenza in Local Healthcare Facilities. The NIOSH Health Effects Lab in Morgantown, West Virginia is studying the airborne transmission of influenza in healthcare facilities. As a part of this study, measurements of the amount of airborne influenza virus in two different local health care settings are required to assess the potential exposure of healthcare workers. The aerosol sampling needs to be done in local healthcare facilities so that the samples can be immediately processed before they degrade. Thus, a local research organization with access to clinical healthcare facilities and experience with air sampling for influenza virus is required for this work to proceed. This project is supported by justification for other than full and open competition to West Virginia University, under authority of 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1). Responsible sources that believe they possess the expertise and capabilities identified above are encouraged to submit to the Contracting Officer within 15 days from the posting date of this notice, their written capabilities statement and pricing information in the format they choose, not to exceed 10 pages. Please forward the capability statement and pricing information to Rebecca Mullenax, Purchasing Agent, CDC, NIOSH, 1065 Willowdale Road, Morgantown, WV 26505 or e-mail RMULLENAX@CDC.GOV or Fax to 304-285-6083. Please reference # 000HCCCC-2008-56745; all vendors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registry (CCR) prior to an award of a federal contract. The website is: www.ccr.gov. The Government will review any/all capabilities statements and pricing information submitted and determines if other qualified sources do exist that could provide this requirement. Information received in response to this announcement will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If no affirmative responses are received within 15 days, in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), negotiations will be conducted with West Virginia University, 103 Stewart Hall, Morgantown, WV 26505-2742 as the only source and a purchase order will be issued without any additional notices being posted.
